Biography
Alexandre Cavallo — bassist, composer, and arranger — was born in Rio de Janeiro and has become a prominent figure in the Brazilian music scene through his versatility and distinctive artistic voice, refined over more than 30 years of professional work. Throughout his career, he has performed and recorded across a wide range of genres, both in Brazil and abroad. Alongside his work as a sideman, Cavallo also develops his instrumental project 1+1, which has earned both critical praise and enthusiastic public reception. Cavallo has worked on recordings and live performances with some of the biggest names in Brazilian music, including Caetano Veloso, Ivan Lins, Fagner, Moraes Moreira, Robertinho de Recife, Elza Soares, Carlinhos Brown, Geraldo Azevedo, Jorge Ben Jor, Mart'nalia, Celso Fonseca, Gilson Peranzzetta, Carla Bruni, Tiago Nacarato, Cris Delanno, Renata Arruda, Isabella Taviani, Pedro Mariano, Paulinho Moska, Leoni, Claudio Lins, Guto Graça Melo, and Alceu Maia, among many others. Since the early stages of his career, Cavallo has been deeply active in instrumental music, having performed with renowned musicians such as José Roberto Bertrami (Azymuth), Raul Mascarenhas, Léo Gandelman, Victor Biglione, and Pascoal Meireles. He released his first instrumental album, 1+1, in partnership with drummer Christiano Galvão. The album featured special guest appearances by Marcos Suzano, Fernando Caneca, Chico Chagas, Sérgio Chiavazzoli, Zeppa, Sérgio Galvão, Hamleto Stamato, Hirosh, Zé Carlos "Bigorna", João Gaspar, and Paulo Marconi, further expanding the reach and richness of the project. With elegance, creativity, and authenticity, Alexandre Cavallo continues to contribute to contemporary Brazilian music, both on stage and in the studio.
