Biography
Bruce Lemos is a pianist, keyboardist, composer, arranger, soundtrack producer, and music educator, graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). He began studying piano at the age of nine and trained under distinguished mentors including maestro Sérgio Barboza (Projeto Villa-Lobinhos), American pianist Jeff Gardner (CIGAM), Flávio Paiva, Heloísa Fidalgo, and Glauco Baptista. At UFRJ, he studied classical piano with Giulio Draghi, music perception with Sheila Zagury, functional harmony with Fábio Adour, arranging with Paulxy Gentil-Nunes, and music education methodologies with José Salgado, among other respected professors. With over two decades of professional experience, Bruce has performed and recorded alongside major Brazilian artists such as Sandra de Sá, Fernanda Abreu, Zélia Duncan, Jorge Ben Jor, Preta Gil, Beto Guedes, Celso Fonseca, Vinicius Cantuária, Fernanda Takai, Céu, Thiaguinho, Toni Garrido, Mumuzinho, Teresa Cristina, Gerson King Combo, Michael Sullivan, Melim, Ludmilla, Buchecha, Liniker, Orquestra Imperial, and Banda Celebrare (with whom he performed for four years). In 2023, he accompanied Spanish singer Cecilia Krull, known for the theme of Netflix's La Casa de Papel, on her first Brazilian tour. He has also recorded and performed for major television and streaming programs including Música Boa Ao Vivo (Multishow), Programa do Faustão (Band), and Palavra de Autor (UBC). Bruce is also highly active in the instrumental jazz scene, performing at major festivals and venues such as the Rio das Ostras Jazz Festival, Blue Note São Paulo and Rio, Triboz, Jazz Village Penedo, Leblon Jazz Festival, and Sesc Rondônia Jazz Festival, where he performed with the Chico Batera Trio. In this context, he has shared the stage with musicians such as Marcelo Martins, Arthur Maia, Jessé Sadoc, Altair Martins, and Sérgio Chiavazzolli. In 2017, he released two original singles alongside Bruno Repsold and Paulo Diniz, available on major streaming platforms. Today, Bruce is recognized for his versatility, refined touch, and professionalism, and is considered one of the most sought-after pianists and keyboardists in Rio de Janeiro.
