A featured soloist, touring musician for Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso, and one of Brazil's top studio recording trumpeters, Diogo delivers world-class tone, musical depth, and refined artistic expression in every session.
Biography
Diogo Gomes, born in Rio de Janeiro, is a celebrated trumpeter, arranger, composer, and music producer. He began his musical training at age 10 under the guidance of his father, trombonist Cesario Constancio Gomes, who shaped his foundation in theory, harmony, arranging, technique, and improvisation. Diogo earned a Bachelor's degree in Trumpet Performance from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and later completed a Postgraduate degree in Arts Education and Music Education. He has appeared as a soloist with the Orquestra Sinfônica de Porto Alegre and the UFRJ Symphony Orchestra, and served for two years as a trumpet professor at the University of Brasília (UnB). He is frequently invited to perform with major Brazilian symphony orchestras. In 2022, he received the Novos Talentos Award at the Savassi Jazz Festival.
