Tamara Barquette

Biography

Tamara Barquette is a Brazilian violinist with a distinguished career spanning orchestral performance, chamber music, and studio recording. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance from UNIRIO, where she studied under Professor Paulo Bosisio, and a postgraduate specialization in Chamber Music. Throughout her career, Tamara has participated in numerous national and international music festivals, including her most recent appearance in Berlin, Germany, in January 2023. She is an award winner of the Paulo Bosisio National String Competition, recognizing her technical excellence and artistic consistency. Tamara has been a tenured member of the Orquestra Sinfônica do Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro for over 13 years, one of Brazil's most prestigious orchestral institutions. In parallel with her orchestral career, she records regularly for a wide range of artists in Brazilian Popular Music (MPB), contributing refined string performances to studio and remote recording projects. She is currently also a member of Gilberto Gil's "Tempo Rei" tour band, bridging the worlds of classical orchestral performance and contemporary Brazilian music at the highest professional level.
