How Sync Opportunities Work
Submit Your Music
Inside the Artist Label Program, you can create a New Sync Track and upload the songs you would like Sessions Boutique to consider for sync opportunities.
Only upload tracks you want to make available for sync representation. Music submitted through this area may be considered for opportunities across multiple channels, including but not limited to TV shows, films, video games, commercials, trailers, and digital media.
We Look for Opportunities
Once your music is submitted, our team can consider it for relevant sync opportunities as they become available.
You keep making music. We'll keep an eye out for opportunities where your tracks may be a good fit.
Respond to Specific Opportunities
From time to time, you may see specific sync briefs in the Artist Label Program.
These briefs may include information provided by music supervisors or other industry professionals about what they are looking for, along with a submission deadline. Some opportunities may have several days to respond, while others may require submissions within just a few hours.
If you have a track that fits the brief — or can create one before the deadline — you can submit it through the platform for consideration.
We'll make sure eligible submissions are delivered to the appropriate music supervisor or other decision-maker for consideration.
If your music is selected, Sessions Boutique will represent you throughout the sync licensing process and handle the necessary negotiations, agreements, and licensing arrangements on your behalf.
What Is Sync Licensing?
Sync licensing, short for synchronization licensing, is the process of licensing music to be used together with visual media.
A song may be licensed for a scene in a television show or movie, a video game, commercial, trailer, online video, or another visual production. Depending on the opportunity, a sync placement can generate licensing income and may also introduce your music to a new audience.
What Can Happen?
Sync opportunities can vary significantly. Some submissions may not result in a placement. Others may lead to a smaller licensing opportunity, while some may develop into major placements.
There are no guaranteed placements or guaranteed earnings. The opportunity, budget, usage, territory, term, and other factors can vary from one project to another.
Our role is to help identify relevant opportunities, present your music for consideration, and, when a track is selected, represent you and facilitate the licensing process on your behalf.
